MEETINGS & MEMBERSHIP
Eugene Kennel Club holds its general meetings on the first
Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. on the 2nd floor of the
Oddfellows' Lodge on 12th & Charnelton streets. Join us!
We welcome new people of ALL ages and experience levels who wish
to actively and positively contribute and support activities related
to an AKC Licensed
All-Breed club. Members are expected to contribute their energy,
time, and enthusiasm towards the advancement of RESPONSIBLE and
LOVING dog ownership, ETHICAL and PRUDENT breeding and TRAINING
practices, PUBLIC EDUCATION, and SPORTSMANSHIP.
Members are expected to attend and contribute to meetings and
special events such as shows, matches, obedience trials, as well as
public education and social events.
To receive an application for membership, you must first attend
at least two general meetings. At the second meeting, you can
request an application from the club secretary. You will need to
complete the application, and obtain the signatures of two EKC
members in good standing, as sponsors, who will vouch for your
character, breeding practices, animal husbandry, and approval of
basic facilities and care via a visit to your home and kennel.
At the two general meetings following submission of your
application and dues, an officer of the club will read your
application aloud to the general membership, then ask for public
comments from both your sponsors and the membership at large. At
the second meeting, your application will be voted upon, and you
will be notified of whether it was approved or disapproved.
Non-members wishing to positively contribute are welcome to
attend the General Meetings. Membership is not required.
We welcome you! Please contact our
Corresponding Secretary for more information.
